You may have noticed our products are tagged with different certifications - this is to make it easier for you to understand their eco credentials. Take a look at our handy guide to what they all mean so you can make informed shopping choices and trust when you buy from us.

  % for the Planet member businesses give at least 1% of their annual sales directly to approved environmental partners. They can do this by donating the equivalent of 1% of sales through a combination of monetary, in-kind and approved promotional expenses.

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers around the world, but particularly in lower income countries. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price),workers can improve their position and have more control over their lives.

Friend of the Sea Sustainable Omega-3 standard

For an Omega-3 supplement or oil to be certified Friend of the Sea sustainable, the product must:

  • come from trimmings or by-cuts from seafood processing or from Friend of the Sea approved fisheries
  • target a not overexploited fish stock
  • be selective, thus not generate more than 8% discard
  • not bycatch endangered species
  • be managed considering its impact on the ecosystem, manage its waste and be energy efficient
Processing of the fish and omega-3 must be carried out in line with Environment Management System practices and Social Accountability principles

MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) Certified

MSC certification ensure the fish-based Omega 3 in the product comes from a fishery that has been independently certified to the MSC’s standard for a well-managed and sustainable fishery. This also takes into account using sustainable fish stocks and minimisation of the environmental impact.

For a product to carry the NATRUE Label, at least 75% of the products of its brand or sub-brand need to be natural, derived natural or nature-identical certified to be granted the seal.

Cosmos Organic Standard for organic and natural cosmetics

As well as certifying food, the Soil Association has also created an international standard for the beauty and wellbeing industry - COSMOS. Its main principles centre around promoting the use of products from organic agriculture, respecting biodiversity, using natural resources responsibly and respecting the environment.

The Leaping Bunny programme - run by Cruelty Free International - is regarded as a global gold standard for cruelty free cosmetics, personal care and household products. They are the leading global certification to look out for to ensure products have no animal-testing in their ingredients or finished products and that they have been produced Cruelty Free.
